Kill la Kill: Season R – Chapter One: Family in Uniform

As Gamagoori carries her friend away, all Ryuko can do is shake her head and watch. She crosses her arms and lets out a small sigh, “I swear, I’d never imagine seeing something like this happen at this place. Am I at the right school? Did I fall in the wrong spot?”

The sound of a heel clacking down echos through; a sudden, blinding light shines down on the path to the school. Ryuko looks up at the top of the school to look at who’s just appeared.

A pure white jacket that fans out at the bottom with a blue outlined collar that reaches up her neck with matching white pants, long, dark blue flowing hair with two long strands reaching down to her chest, arms folded and her head held high, she overlooks the entire school from up top of the school. Her voice full of resolve and strength, Student Council President, Satsuki Kiryuin makes her entrance and begins her speech.

“Students of Honnouji Academy! Welcome back to our newly rebuilt and improved school. The last few weeks, much has happened, not only to this school, but also to the students and residences in Honnou Town. And we have pushed through and persevered, proving our strength as a whole. And for that, I would like to personally congratulate and thank you for your hard work!”

In perfect unison, all of the students down below all answer in one voice, “Thank you, Lady Satsuki!”

“With a new school and new resolves in our hearts, let’s continue to show the strength of Honnouji!”

Satsuki lowers her head to get a better look at the student crowd. Directly in front of her down below, she can see Ryuko wearing the school uniform, “Matoi.”

“Satsuki Kiryuin.”

Although there’s a large height distance between the two of them, they can tell that each others’ eyes has met; they keep their looks straight at one another. Satsuki gives off a small smile, “I owe you the biggest thank you of all.”

Ryuko blushes a bit and scratches her chin, slightly looking away, “Yeah, well, we couldn’t exactly let our crazy mother go through with what she had planned.”

“I still owe you my thanks. Please, join me for tea later.”

“Fine by me.”

Satsuki gives a small nod before bringing her head back up, “Honnouji Academy! Enjoy your new lives as a new school. Dismissed!”

Satsuki turns to start walking away; the bright light fades as she enters the building. As soon as she’s gone, the entire student body brings themselves back up and continue making their way to the school building. Ryuko, however, keeps looking up at the spot where Satsuki was standing.

Still can’t believe somebody like her is my sister. We tired to kill each other, and now we’re speaking as if nothing happened. We really are a family nobody understands.
