Gluttony, one of the Seven Deadly Sins. Some acknowledge it as the deadly sin of them all. Other think of it as one of the easiest to overcome and endure. It all depends on just how far the sin as taken over the person’s entire being, the body, soul, and mind. As for The King, his gluttonous ways drove him to become who he his now.
Day after day, every waking hour, he was at the dining table, gorging himself with food. He paid no mind to the welfare and needs of the townsfolk outside. The Queen took over to the best of her ability while he ate, but she could only do so much. His personal servants cowered in fear, forced to bring more food to him or fear the threat of public execution.
Matilda saw The King’s rapid growth, and knew this wasn’t going to end well.
“B-But The King will–”
“Do not worry. His gut is too engorged to move from that seat.”
Matilda and Zoraya looked down the hall and heard the gentle patter of The Queen’s heels walking down the marble walkway. They both dropped down to one knee and greeted her, “Welcome, Lady Pariah.”
The Queen gave a simple nod as she approached the two servants, tapping them both on the shoulder, “Please, now is not the time for that. We have more pressing matters at hand.”
The pair slowly got up. Matilda was the first to speak, “What’s wrong, Lady Pariah?”
