100 Word Story – Annoyance (Part Two)

Most people are stuck at a dead-end job that they want little to do with during their working hours. They just clock-in, do what they need to do for the day, and clock-out when it’s time. They don’t really care about anything else.

But no matter where you go, there’s always that one coworker that complains just to complain. There’s nothing they can do about the matter, and yet they continue to complain.

And that can easily get under a person’s skin…

“There’s no orders to pull, no deliveries coming in all week, whatever order we do have, a bunch are missing bottles—”

Daniel kept ranting on and on, pacing back and forth with his arms flailing, complaining about the state of our job. Everybody is well aware of the lack of business and work to be done. I’m very well aware of this observation. But I’m not going around spewing the same words over and over—it won’t make a single difference.

“There’s nothing you can do about it,” I replied, crossing my arms. “Complaining about it won’t fix it.”
