100 Word Story – Mannequin

Something wasn’t right about this mannequin, something felt off about it. When I flashed my light on it, I noticed the extra details along the entire body, small dark spots and faint bumps all over as if it was alive and cold. I cautiously walked towards it, the old floor boards seeming to make it wobble with every step I took.

Up in its face—if it had one—I looked over every inch and saw thin lines all over, each in different spots where facial details should be: eyes, mouth, nose, the works.

“What the hell happened to it…?”

100 Word Story – Combo

Left, left, right, left.

Kai repeated those words in his head as his fists pounded away at the punching bag in front of him, it lightly swaying back and forth every few strikes. Every few punches, he would weave around the bag, dipping and diving as if it could retaliate against his assault. Through calm, slow breaths and timing, his heartbeat managed to stay in a relaxed state and his body barely feeling fatigued.

Finish it.

Pulling his fist back, Kai launched forward and punched the bag, his fist going straight through to the other side.

“I’m gonna destroy him.”

100 Word Story – Skull

That was the first time I did it, and I didn’t regret it. The way my excited face was just covered in the blood of my victims, hearing their screams for freedom, and hearing their final gasps of air before they gave in to death, it was all a wild thrill that gave me nothing but pleasure. I couldn’t help but squeal in joy.

“His head popped like a small balloon. Give me a skull so I can use it as an ornament. Please!”

Mariko shot me a strange glare, questioning my motives.

“Don’t question, just pass a fucking skull!”

100 Word Story – Wrong Moment

There’s a time and place for everything—this was not one of those moments.

Roger stayed down on his knee, his emerald green eyes shining up at me, like the ring in his hand. He kept his composure and had his cool dude attitude intact, even if his face was red with embarrassment.

I looked around at the patrons trying to enjoy their dinner, all of their eyes focusing on me instead of the plates in front of them. One person had a bright smile on their face, awaiting my response to Roger.

I had to break his heart. “No.”

100 Word Story – Quick Snack

Jeffrey cautiously backed away as I casually walked closer. He kept his hands along the walls to help keep balance as he tried to walk over the boxes behind him.

I tilted my head, showing off one of my blood-stained fanged teeth, “What’s wrong, Little Jeffy? Why are you backing away? You can’t be afraid of me, are you?”

“You… K-Keep away! I know w-what you are!”

Tripping just like his words, Jeffrey took a wrong step and came tumbling down on a case of wine. I took my chance and pounced on him.

I grinned, “Your blood will do.”

100 Word Story – Behind Locked Doors

There was a knock at the door, a frantic knock. I didn’t bother even moving from the small corner I managed to squeeze myself into. There was a brief pause before the knocking continued, this time lasting for a minute before another break. Instead of knocking again, whoever was on the other side started trying to turn the knob.

A grizzly voice grunted on the other side, “Shit, it’s locked.”

It’s him, it’s really him, was all I thought. All of those days, those memories of silent suffering, were about to finally end.

I pulled out my revolver and aimed.

100 Word Story – Approach

Something was behind me, I could feel its hot breath hitting the back of my neck as it groaned. Its cold, clammy hand rested on my shoulder, I could feel a faint, irregular heartbeat coming from the palm. We both stood still for a moment. From my years of traveling I easily recognized the sensation, so I was rather surprised when the thing didn’t make an attempt on my life.

I didn’t bother turning around when I spoke, “What do you want, you living undead?”

When it spoke its voice was raspy and struggled forming words, “C-C-Come with me, S-Silvana.”

100 Word Story – News

A real reporter would never do what I am about to do. My journalistic integrity is completely in question by doing this, but my morals are telling me to take this as far as possible—the desire to make the most out of this situation and prolong it as much as possible.

“Please, please, just let me go! I-I swear I won’t tell the police!” he cried. He shook his arms with ferocity, begging for me to remove the shackles.

I brought the axe over my head, lining up the shadow with his leg, “Not yet. You’re my money maker.”

100 Word Story – Ghostly Investigation

I had just four days remaining, and I’ve barely made any progress since the last update. Nakamura went away on his business trip, but he left behind a few noteworthy places that I could float around for more clues. The only bad part is now I have to possess somebody entirely different—a complete stranger.

“Fuck.”

Just the thought of it made me feel guilty about my newly acquired talents. I’ve taken possession of Nakamura only three times, but he was willing to do it. But regardless, I had to do it.

I needed to find out who killed me.

100 Word Story – One-Sided Love

It wasn’t meant to be. He was such a loving and caring man, making sure that all of my needs were satisfied whether it was buying minor trinkets of affection, performing small deeds to make me happy, or just constantly professing his affection. Honestly, it wasn’t enough.

I wanted to see how his anger could take control.

He would always walk out of the room and start screaming at the top of his lungs whenever he’d get too heated about a topic. Little did he know that I would intentionally bring up certain topics to see his cheeks flush red.

100 Word Story – Power Tools

We were finally done—Marcel took off his face mask. There was a fine line between where the splatter reached his face and how everything just below his nose was still untouched. His eyes looked at the massacre on the table then at me.

His hands were still shaking violently even after dropping the buzz saw, “Okay, it’s your turn. Go get the bag and clean up.”

My body was stuck on the other side of the room, refusing to move. I kept shaking my head, tears flooding out of my eyes.

“We just chopped up a guy’s dead body!”

100 Word Story – Flying High

The flight was terrible—everything was terrible. The flight attendants were constantly screaming their lungs out, the passengers wouldn’t follow instructions I gave them, the pilot lost a damn eye, it was crazy. I even had to put a bullet through this one guy’s head because he tried to act all tough shit.

Then, I had to get a new pair of sneakers once this plane got to where I needed it. I really liked them; they had a small snowman design on the sides. Now they looked like bloody snowmen.

I’m never going to try robbing a plane again.
