Pre-Screening for Romance

Technology has made life so much easier and convenient in multiple ways. One such way is how we stay in communication with people all over the world. And, in some circumstances, helps us even find the right person for us somewhere around the world.

Friendships, lovers, marriages: these are easier to find now because of technology. Staying on contact has never been easier. Some would say that it’s almost too easy to find somebody right for you.

Unfortunately for Warren, things just haven’t been up his alley lately. Numerous attempts at trying to meet somebody have been shot down rather quickly, leaving behind nothing bus repeated disappointment and regret.

What about tonight’s latest trial?

Warren had seen this opening line too many times, each time coming from a different woman. At least, he had used to believe they were different women.

He patiently waited for a reply but one rarely came to his inbox. And if one did, it was only a repeat of the very first message that started the whole conversation.

Coming to a decision, Warren shrugged off his worries for the moment and rolled the dice, “I already know what to expect if it doesn’t work out.” Continue reading the short story

Drinks with Shelia [18+]

Shelia slid the drink in front of me and I immediately took a few sips, trying to get past the harsh alcohol in my mouth. The bar was loud as always, but that was something I’m used to.

But when I first went inside, I couldn’t put my finger on it, but something didn’t feel right. The place was still crowded, the food smelled good, and alcohol was flying all around.

So, what was different today?

Sheila had a big grin on her face, hands on her hips.

“What?” I asked. “Somethin’ on mah face?”

Shelia laughed loudly, fixing her tank top to be more suited for work, “Yeah, I know. I can’t wait for this shift to be over. I have a lot more I want to do to you.”

100 Word Story – One-Sided Love

It wasn’t meant to be. He was such a loving and caring man, making sure that all of my needs were satisfied whether it was buying minor trinkets of affection, performing small deeds to make me happy, or just constantly professing his affection. Honestly, it wasn’t enough.

I wanted to see how his anger could take control.

He would always walk out of the room and start screaming at the top of his lungs whenever he’d get too heated about a topic. Little did he know that I would intentionally bring up certain topics to see his cheeks flush red.

100 Word Story – Change

She helped me a lot. There were days where I called her over for the most trivial things that I could easily do myself just so I could look at her. Through all of it she would have that warm, glowing smile on her face. Last time, she came by to help me prepare a new dish for dinner; she ended up cooking the entire thing.

After that night, I knew what kind of person I wanted to become: somebody others can rely on. But now, I’ll never get the chance to tell her that.

I already miss my sister.

100 Word Story – Love

A love has many meanings. Most tend to say love is about finding another person or being and having a growing passion and desire for them, wanting to see them improve themselves while creating an intimate bond. Love can also be wanting to raise something up and protect it as it goes through life, experiencing everything it’s capable of accomplishing.

For me, love is that burning feeling I get whenever somebody’s world crumbling is at their feet, tears raining down like a heavy cloud up above. I can’t help but smile at somebody’s suffering.

Isn’t pain so lovely to see?
