The elegance of the full white moon radiates down on Honnou Town. The moonlight illuminates the narrow alleyways, wide roads, and the empty streets. Barely anybody is walking around at night, making the silence of the town ring loudly.
Up in the highest tower of Honnouji Academy, Satsuki takes a seat in a large, white cushioned chair in front of a glass wall that overlooks the entire town; she tightens the tie of her white robe to keep it from opening. She crosses her legs and turns her head ever so slightly, taking a small glance at the town below.
“Honnouji… Built on resolve and strong ideals.”
Letting out a small sigh, the memories of the past few events floods her mind; her heart beat speeds up as if it’s about to burst, her hands moist from cold sweats, her breathing becoming heavy as if she’s in the heat of battle. Although the memories are intense, one thought manages to help bring her back to a calm and relaxed state: Ryuko. Finally knowing what happened to her lost sister, Satsuki slowly manages to get her breathing and racing heart back to normal. She closes her eyes and a small smile fills her face.
“We’re so different, yet so similar in multiple ways.”
“What’s similar, Miss Satsuki?”
Satsuki opens her eyes and sees Soroi slowly walking towards her; a tray with a single tea cup and pot on it.
“Ryuko and I. I never would have imagined that she and I were family.”
Soroi puts the tray on a small table and carefully hands Satsuki the cup, slowly pouring tea into it. She takes a small sip, savoring the simple flavors that stir around in her cup.
“Thank you, Soroi. I need this tonight more than usual.”
“I’m always ready to prepare your tea when you need it, Miss.”
Satsuki gives a small nod and continues to look out of the window; her eyes slowly darting around. Soroi looks at Satsuki, then moves closer to the window to get a look for himself.
“May I ask something, if it’s not overstepping my boundaries?”
“I always value your opinion, Soroi. Feel free to ask me whatever it is you would like to know?”
“Why did you decide to rebuild Honnouji so quickly? Isn’t it’s purpose already fulfilled?”
Soroi doesn’t get a response. A silent minute passes before he nods his head.
