Kill la Kill: Season R – Chapter Two: New School, New Resolve

Hearing the phrase puts Satsuki in a deep trance of thought. With different ideas, thoughts and scenarios floating around in her mind, she quickly sorts out various outcomes. When one specific scenario becomes the focus, her face quickly becomes flushed red with embarrassment. Soroi takes notice of Satsuki’s face becoming red and questions her.

“Are you okay, Miss Satsuki? Is the tea too hot?”

“N-No, it’s not that. Something just came to mind.”

Quickly chugging the rest of her tea, Satsuki catches her breath from drinking so much at once. She puts her cup on her tray and gets up from her seat.

“It’s time that I got some sleep. I have something I’d like to do tomorrow.”

“Right away. I’ll get your bed ready.”

Soroi picks up the tea tray and slowly walks away. Mind still racing, Satsuki puts her hand on her chest; her heart is beating rapidly. She takes a deep breath to try and calm her body down.

I never imagined that a thought like that would easily get me so flustered and bothered. Especially knowing everything now… Perhaps, it is time for some change in my life.

“Wind instruments, make it louder!”

Wildly waving around her band baton, Jakuzure leads her marching orchestra in a melody of tones and sounds, blending together perfectly to make an invigorating performance that could easily inspire even those down on their luck. Even though there’s nobody listening to the performance in the gymnasium, Jakuzure keeps wildly waving her baton around.

“Everybody, take it up an octave!”

Her musical instructions are starting to sound more like commands as Jakuzure starts screaming at the orchestra; the extra effort quickly turns into strenuous force on their musical ability. Some of the performers start to lose their breath and notes start to fall out of order or become the wrong tone.

Hearing her team beginning to fall apart infuriates the already frustrated Jakuzure; she bangs her baton on the music sheet stand in front of her and grins her teeth, “Hold it together, or we’re gonna to the entire song again! Do you hear me!?”

All of her anger pours out; Jakuzure is practically banging on the stand like a drum. After just a few powerful bangs, a loud snapping sound rings through the gymnasium. The sudden sound causes the orchestra to come to an abrupt stop, everybody stopping in unison as they all keep their eyes on their band leader. Jakuzure stops moving her hand and slowly begins to calm down. She looks at the stand for a moment before rubbing her face with the back of her hand.

Letting out a loud sigh, Jakuzure give one last instruction, “Practice is over. Get out of here.”
