Kill la Kill: Season R – Chapter Two: New School, New Resolve

A bit worried, Mako has to ask, “Is everything okay?”

A small smile appears on Satsuki’s face, “Just want to talk with my sister for a little bit.”

Embarrassed, Ryuko’s face begins blushing at Satsuki’s words. Mako smiles back and nods, jogging back to the school building. Ryuko sits back down, but doesn’t make eye contact. With the last of the students flooding into the school, Ryuko and Satsuki are left alone in the entire courtyard. A gentle breeze blows through, giving off a soft whistling sound.

Breaking through her embarrassment, Ryuko looks at Satsuki, “So, what’s up?”

Satsuki shakes her head and looks back at Ryuko, “Just wanted some time to talk with you in private.”

“Oh, okay.”

A strange, awkward silence fills the air between them for a brief moment, but Satsuki break it, “How’s the school now since everything’s ended?”

Ryuko lays her arms back over the bench, “It’s a lot easier to walk around without somebody trying to kill me. That’s a start, I guess.”

“It seems like you’ve gotten use to wearing the No-Star uniform. However,” Satsuki takes a quick up and down glance at Ryuko, “the colors don’t really seem like ‘you.’”

Ryuko chuckles, “Mako said the same thing, saying it’s weird seeing me in blue and white.”

“It was a bit easier to identify you in your red and black uniform. If you want, I can have a specially tailored uniform for you. It just won’t be able to speak like before.”

Although she appreciates the offer, Ryuko refuses and shakes her head, “It’s fine. I’m sure I still have my old uniform somewhere at the house. Besides, there was only one Senketsu; nobody can copy him.”

Satsuki smiles a bit, “I can relate. I’m use to wearing Junketsu that I occasionally catch myself activating the synchronizing mechanic that use to me on my arm even though I’m wearing my old uniform.”

Ryuko looks at the sky for a moment, then at Satsuki, “It’s weird. You’re being sentimental and considerate of me. I take it this is Satsuki finally letting her guard down all the way?”

“Is it really that strange?”

“Just a bit, but it’s a nice change of pace.”

“It is. Soroi said it was time for some new experience in my life, so I figured I let myself relax a bit.”

“Ever since I came to this school, all I’ve had were new experience.”

“Do you think there are some more experiences awaiting you here at Honnouji?”
