Gluttony, one of the Seven Deadly Sins. Some acknowledge it as the deadly sin of them all. Other think of it as one of the easiest to overcome and endure. It all depends on just how far the sin as taken over the person’s entire being, the body, soul, and mind. As for The King, his gluttonous ways drove him to become who he his now.
Day after day, every waking hour, he was at the dining table, gorging himself with food. He paid no mind to the welfare and needs of the townsfolk outside. The Queen took over to the best of her ability while he ate, but she could only do so much. His personal servants cowered in fear, forced to bring more food to him or fear the threat of public execution.
Matilda saw The King’s rapid growth, and knew this wasn’t going to end well.
The Queen burst into a river of tears, on her knees, clinging to the lifeless arm of The King. The Queen tugged on The King’s arm, hoping to get some kind of reaction.
Matilda and Zoraya looked at each other, confused by the situation. They both knew the truth of the events going on, but didn’t understand why The Queen was acting like this.
Hesitant, Matilda walked up to The Queen and rubbed her shoulder, “Everything will be okay, Lady Pariah.”
Finished with her tears, The Queen wiped her face and looked up at Matilda, grinning, “Long live The Queen.”
