100 Word Story – False Mother (Finale)

“It wouldn’t stop crying, it just wouldn’t stop…”

Eugene ran over to the bed and grabbed his shaking wife, “Love, relax. What happened, who wouldn’t stop crying?”

The wife couldn’t contain herself, her hands trembling as she was pushing down on a pillow. She shook her head with fright when she spoke through her sobbing, “I should have told you months ago that I didn’t want this. Seeing it in front of me, hearing it cry—I hated it.”

Eugene didn’t understand what she was saying. He looked around the room, “Where’s our son?”

The wife slowly lifted the pillow.
