The officer knew something unusual was going on when he heard the strange sounds coming from the alleyway. At first he thought it was just some rats running around in the shadows. He was going to ignore it and continue his nightly patrol.
Until he heard the shrieking cries of a girl coming from the dark in the alleyway.
“I said not to come any closer!”
The police officer kept his gun pointed at the girl, trying to subside the subdue the unnerving fright in his hands, “I told you to freeze! If you continue to refuse, I will be forced to open fire!”
The only light along the entire alleyway was from the overhead street lamp that was attached to one of the buildings. However, its orange light was slowly fading away, occasionally flickering at the worst of times. The officer knew that if this light went out, it would possibly be the end of him.
He couldn’t let the teenage girl get any closer.
