100 Word Story – Mirrored Walls (Finale)

Everything was spinning around me, nothing wanted to stay still. My head throbbed with a fiery intensity, and my body was stiff as cement. A faint bright light was trying to break through my eye lids, bringing me out of my dreams.

However, it seemed like I awoke from a dream and entered a nightmare. Through a sliver of sight, I caught a glimpse of where I was. Mirrors all around me, all of them with the same image.

Me. On every mirror. Trapped.

Rattling chains echoed from somewhere in the room. One of the mirrors started rising up against the wall, with a blast of cold air rushing right in. unknown of what was on the other side, I ran to the opposite side of the opening, trying to get as much distance as possible.

A man wearing a long white lab coat stepped into the room from behind the mirror, “It’s time for your medical reevaluation. Come with me.”

His dry and hoarse tone of voice was much clearer now, reminding me of my younger years.

The darker time of my life.
