100 Word Story – Mother & Daughter (Part One)

“When did this happened?” I shouted angrily. “I was only gone for five minutes, and this happens.”

Samantha was rushing to clean up the mess between us, the mop quickly soaking up the liquids on the floor. “I’m sorry, Mom,” she pleaded, her voice panicked. She rung the mop out in the small bucket next to the mess and continued cleaning, “I didn’t have a choice. The guy broke through the window, and I had to stop him.”

There was a giant red trail leaning from back in the living room to here.

I ordered her to get the bleach.

100 Word Story – Worm Boy

“Five bucks says you won’t have the guts to eat that worm.”

Dean looked at me, then at the worm in the dried mud puddle. The worm was confused as it tried to bury itself in the dried mud. It eventually gave up and just wiggled around.

Dead was always nervous and freaked out by bugs and stuff, but when he heard money was involved he suddenly became brave. He pinched the worm up and asked, “Five bucks?”

I pulled a five dollar bill from my shorts pocket, “Five bucks.”

In one bite Dean slurped the worm like wet spaghetti.

100 Word Story – Pizza

Tommy looked at the address listed on the pizza box: 15-90 Maple Drive. Making sure he didn’t miss it he slowly walked up the sidewalk, in the late-spring breeze, carefully reading off the numbers on every passing mailbox. When he found the one that was marked “15-90,” he walked up the cobblestone walkway and knocked on the door.

After knocking again, this time with more force behind it, the door slowly creaked open. He stuck his head in a bit, announcing “pizza delivery.” Still, no response from inside the house.

Curious, he took a step into the dark, empty house.

100 Word Story – Scissors

My legs felt numb, absolutely no sensation whatsoever. I couldn’t even feel the cold sting of the shackles around my ankles. My brain commanded my toes to try and wiggle but got no response or movement. My breathing started picking up, my heavy breaths seeming to echo in my ears. My sight started going hazy, everything rocking from side to side. In the distance I could hear a pair of shoes approaching me.

I lifted my head up and saw a young girl coming to me, massive, rusty scissors in her hand.

“It’s time for your operation, Mother. Lie still!”

100 Word Story – Obligations

While I was working I missed out in a lot of things: birthdays, funerals, family gatherings, lots of very social things. These were things that I never cared about, most likely never attending even if I had that day off. I just didn’t like interacting with others.

However, there was one event that I missed, and I still hate myself for missing it.

“Rebecca, look! Junior’s walking!”

My husband kept saying those words in the video of our son struggling to walk across the carpet. I couldn’t help but cry, not because I was happy, but because I wasn’t there.

100 Word Story – Weakling

He kept crying, his eyes an endless waterfall of tears. It started to get on my nerves.

I leaned in and punched him right in his face, “Man up and stop crying like a baby.” I watched him for a moment to see how he’d react. Now, aside from crying even harder, his nose was crooked and bled to no end. I sighed, grabbing his nose and straightening it. He screamed out in pain, twitching uncontrollably.

Seeing him so weak, all I could do was watch him die, disgusted at his lack of resolve.

“I should just kill you now.”

100 Word Story – Hold Up

Police was all around me, surely surrounding the building from every possible exit. The sound of helicopter blades whirled overhead, and the local media was trying to cover the entire event from safety behind the barricade of cars out front.

I pointed my gun at one of the tellers, “You, redhead. Get over here!”

It was a man, and he readily followed my instructions, knowing his life was in danger if he didn’t listen. When he got in front of me I smacked him across the face with the pistol and grabbed his neck, holding him close.”

“Follow me, bitch.”

100 Word Story – Show Me

Veronica dropped to her knees and held onto my hips, burying her face in my stomach, her cries muffed against my sweatshirt. She continued pleading for forgiveness, digging her nails into my hips.

All romantic feelings I had for her were quickly dying off, my eyes now seeing her as nothing but an unnecessary person in my life. I grabbed a clump of her hair and pulled her head back, forcing her watery eyes to look up at me.

She begged, “Please, Sheryl, give me another chance! I promise I won’t mess up!”

“Show me your phone,” I scowled. “Now.”

100 Word Story – Mannequin

Something wasn’t right about this mannequin, something felt off about it. When I flashed my light on it, I noticed the extra details along the entire body, small dark spots and faint bumps all over as if it was alive and cold. I cautiously walked towards it, the old floor boards seeming to make it wobble with every step I took.

Up in its face—if it had one—I looked over every inch and saw thin lines all over, each in different spots where facial details should be: eyes, mouth, nose, the works.

“What the hell happened to it…?”

100 Word Story – Combo

Left, left, right, left.

Kai repeated those words in his head as his fists pounded away at the punching bag in front of him, it lightly swaying back and forth every few strikes. Every few punches, he would weave around the bag, dipping and diving as if it could retaliate against his assault. Through calm, slow breaths and timing, his heartbeat managed to stay in a relaxed state and his body barely feeling fatigued.

Finish it.

Pulling his fist back, Kai launched forward and punched the bag, his fist going straight through to the other side.

“I’m gonna destroy him.”

100 Word Story – Skull

That was the first time I did it, and I didn’t regret it. The way my excited face was just covered in the blood of my victims, hearing their screams for freedom, and hearing their final gasps of air before they gave in to death, it was all a wild thrill that gave me nothing but pleasure. I couldn’t help but squeal in joy.

“His head popped like a small balloon. Give me a skull so I can use it as an ornament. Please!”

Mariko shot me a strange glare, questioning my motives.

“Don’t question, just pass a fucking skull!”

100 Word Story – Wrong Moment

There’s a time and place for everything—this was not one of those moments.

Roger stayed down on his knee, his emerald green eyes shining up at me, like the ring in his hand. He kept his composure and had his cool dude attitude intact, even if his face was red with embarrassment.

I looked around at the patrons trying to enjoy their dinner, all of their eyes focusing on me instead of the plates in front of them. One person had a bright smile on their face, awaiting my response to Roger.

I had to break his heart. “No.”
