100 Word Story – Pizza

Tommy looked at the address listed on the pizza box: 15-90 Maple Drive. Making sure he didn’t miss it he slowly walked up the sidewalk, in the late-spring breeze, carefully reading off the numbers on every passing mailbox. When he found the one that was marked “15-90,” he walked up the cobblestone walkway and knocked on the door.

After knocking again, this time with more force behind it, the door slowly creaked open. He stuck his head in a bit, announcing “pizza delivery.” Still, no response from inside the house.

Curious, he took a step into the dark, empty house.

Under the Bed

I didn’t hear him come in; he was completely silent. The only reason why I even noticed that somebody walked into the room was the creaking of the broken floorboards—he stepped right on the one floorboard that needed to be replaced. When I heard the loud squeaking sound, I rolled out of bed and went under it, squeezing myself in as far as I could.

“Where the hell did that little brat go?” he grumbled with anger. His heavy boots crashed into the squeaking boards with every step, obviously making himself present in the room.

He walked over to the bed and stopped. The front of his boots were covered in a red spatter, a faint smell of iron coming off of them. Fear overwhelmed me, my vision starting to get blurry and my heartbeat pounding in my ear drums. The urge to scream out for help again was strong, but I bit down on my mouth as a precaution in case I unknowingly did it. Please don’t let him look under the bed.

The boots stood there for a moment, just a few inches away from me. The man grunted and the boots turned around, walking to the other side of the room. My sight was cut off from the bed, but all I could see was up to his waist now. In one of his back pockets there was a small, clover-shaped charm hanging out.

He has my car keys! How am I suppose to get out of here now?

He started for the closet, his boots stopping right in front of the door. Just from hearing the loud snaps, I could tell that the door was suddenly yanked from its hinges and fell right to the ground. “Where are ya, girl? I’m getting real tired of looking. Come out now, and maybe I’ll go easy on ya.”

Wishing Well

Jamie dragged me all the way to this opening in the woods where a well was just randomly sitting there. The entire clearing was void of any trees for a couple yards, as if somebody wanted others to find this well.

Apparently, from what she told me, if somebody tossed something in the well of great value, they can make a wish and it will come true. Jamie talked about how her friend came here and was granted a wish.

But something about this well just didn’t feel right, something felt off. The fact that the well was just openly in a cleared section of forest was strange alone. Why was there even a well in the middle of the forest to begin with? There was no town or villages close enough to have use of it. Why was it here?

I quickly reached out and grabbed the bottom of her shirt, pulling her back down when I saw her feet rise off of the ground. “Careful. Lean in any more and you would have fell straight in.”

My gut started churning when I saw the distress in my little sister’s eyes. The usually light glimmer in her sky blue eyes were faded and dull.

“There’s somebody calling out to me! There’s somebody in the well!”

Volume Control

I think over the course of one minute, the guy’s hand was flailing in front of my face at least twenty times. Even if I was looking down at my screen, just minding my own business, a few of his fingers would pop up in my line-of-sight.

“Dude, I like them with the fat ass! Like, this big!”

Just from the conversation alone, I could tell why his hand appeared in my sight again. With my head still down at my phone I glanced out of the corner of my eye and saw the guy—bald head, wearing a beige leather coat and an opened button-up shirt—leaning back with his arms as wide as possible. He kept going on and on, talking about how he’d like to have a chance to have sex with a woman with an ass that large. In his right hand was a half-full glass of dark beer, his fingers barely keeping a grip on it. The guys on the other side of him we’re laughing at his conquest.

The man let out a burp before he came back onto the bar counter, “I-I see you laughin,’ but I’m real! I’ll stick my dick in a big-ass ass.” He took a big swig of his beer and slammed it back down. He took in a big gasp and yelled out, “I’ll find a chick like that—I like big butts!”

I wanted to discreetly listen in on the conversation for as long as I could, but I couldn’t help but to turn my head and look to my right. I could feel my eyes squinting, in confusion at the drunk man next to me. My brain tried to keep up with the conversation, but he quickly jumped back and forth from talking about asses and the laughing person next to him.

You are one strange, bald man.

Originally, I had came to the bar to just relax and unwind from a stressful day at work—a common thing to do. I just wanted to have a nice drink and browse around on my phone for an hour or two, maybe chat it up with one of the bartenders for a bit. Never did I imagine I’d hear such a strange conversation going on next to me. And yet, I couldn’t get enough. Before I knew it, I had my drink tight in my hand as I continued to listen to the drunk man, not even trying to hide the fact that I was listening.

I laughed at the thought, it’s great that he can’t control the volume of his voice. More comedy gold for me.
