100 Word Story – Babysitting (Finale)

Don’t we all just love children? Aren’t they just the greatest bundle of joy, bringing happiness everywhere they go with their laughter and bubbly attitudes? Geez, aren’t they just… some of the most annoying things on the planet?

All they do is make loud noise, screaming at the top of their lungs for no apparent reason, running around the house in a mad dash chasing something that they made up? I mean, who the hell can have so much fun running after something that doesn’t exist?

They only thing that makes babysitting a kid doable is giving me enough cash to put up with it, and even then it needs to be a nice amount.

Kids suck.


With her boots propped up again and a new magazine in hand, Gina enjoyed the rest of her babysitting night in relaxation. No weird noises, no fake explosions, no Johnny to bother her. Right after his bath, she sent him to bed.

As she read about new trends going around, she heard the front door open and the voices of Mr. and Mrs. Lombardi, “We’re home.”

Gina quickly got up from the couch and greeted them, “Welcome back. How was your night?”

Mr. and Mrs. Lombardi side-eyed each other and laughed, “It was just delightful. How was Johnny?”

“Just lovely…”
