100 Word Story – Reconsidering Romantics (Part One)

I honestly never thought that we would be in this kind of situation. Things have been amazing in more way than one. The romantic passion between the two of us was intense and even made the older couple jealous. Some days we couldn’t keep our hands off each other in an erotic embrace, and others we simply were under one another just in bed being lazy. Every day, no matter what we had planned, was always filled with excitement.

And now, that part of my life was slowly dying. I started yearning for that kind of love again, that same heated passion that we both had. Now, on a lucky day, the most passionate thing I can get would be some kind of breakfast in bed and foreplay before we get intimate.

Was this really what the rest of my life with this man was going to be like?

100 Word Story – Burned Promises (Finale)

We promised each other that we would be inseparable, that we would always be together. Whether we scheduled a doctor’s appointment for the same day and time, went clothes shopping together, or even got caught sneaking out of class together, we always made sure we did it as a duo.

If Evalyn got caught coming home late, I would make sure to call her house to say that she was with me all day, even if she was visiting her boyfriend. If my parents were calling my cellphone, and I didn’t bother answering, she would call them and say that my phone died. We made sure we had a solution for everything, and that was how we rolled on a daily basis.

Why would it change if we decided to check out an old abandoned house? We had the perfect answer for every situation.

That is, if we both made it out alive. Continue reading Burned Promises

Don’t Worry, Luka isn’t Dead. I’m Just Very, Very Tired

Don’t Worry, Luka isn’t Dead. I’m Just Very, Very Tired

Normally I would start a post with some kind of dramatic story opening about what has been going on in my life, but honestly, my brain is too fried out to even try and come up with something. Besides, the entire world is more or less on the same playing field, in terms of global events happening. So many people said that 2020 was gonna be “the year.” I’ve never seen so many people who actually set goals for themselves and take all of the steps needed in order to reach them. Friends and family where taking big risks to not only push further in a career that they liked, but many were finally taking the big leap it take the chance at being happy doing what they like instead of being stuck at a dead-end 9-to-5.

And then the world decided to give a giant “fuck you” to everybody. From starting off the year with almost having another world war happen, forced to work during a global pandemic and seeing protests happen all over the world for #blacklivesmatter, I can safely and honestly say this:

2020 has been one fucked up roller-coaster of emotions, events, and movements of unparalleled proportions. Continue reading Don’t Worry, Luka isn’t dead

New Plague City Finally Fell Asleep

New Plague City Finally Fell Asleep

People always came to this city and expect to have the time of their lives—and they do. Everybody stares up at the neon and flashing lights as they walk up and down Broadway, through the dense crowds of tourists and residents, trying to find a show that isn’t already sold out for the next week. Well-known restaurants and eateries filled to the brim and waiting lines that wrapped around street corners, people stopping every few steps to take a photo of a street performer or musician playing requests, tourist bringing the flow to a halt of traffic because they don’t understand the basic rules of walking around in the city—these were all things that were common sights and a daily occurrence to anybody in the city.

Even with the sidewalks crowded with people, the streets themselves were often bumper to bumper with cars trying to get from one place to another. Whether it was a person’s personal car, a yellow cab that charged outrageous fees during rush hour, or even a ride-share with four other strangers in an attempt to save money, cars made up the concrete ocean of the city. A once loud but lively city was the greatest joy for anybody who walked along through the jungle of metal and glass skyscrapers.

And now… it went to sleep.

Late-Night Rush Hour

Late-Night Rush Hour

Being stuck on the closing shift at work is never really an enjoyable thing. Having to start your day by coming into work during the busiest hour of the day and having to stay until it’s as quiet as a graveyard can be quite annoying, especially if you’ve been stuck on that shift for over two years. On top of that, being forced to deal with customers all while holding a fake smile on your face makes all the worse.

But once you finally finish up closing the store for the night—counting the drawers, printing out the daily sales reports, cashing out any tips left from deliveries—hearing that metal shutter slam down every night is an amazing thing to hear. Walking through the city all while letting the nigh breeze naturally cool you off is such a relaxing thing to have when walking to the trains to take you home.

This became my nightly routine. After dealing with a stressful day at work, that brief walk to the trains helped me unwind as I waited for the trains to take me home. Normal as usual. Continue reading Late-Night Rush Hour
