What is A Human?

War has always been a favorable pastime of mine, enjoying the destruction and misery brought about to the enemy troops when they’re outmatched. Seeing living bodies become cold corpses, the sound of gunfire and cries of defeat, taking control of the enemy bases and camps, all of these made war fun.

The absolutely best part was always confronting the enemy leader, and making a mess out of them with ease. An army is only as strong as its leader, and I’ve yet found one that was able to best even my most basic of infantry.

Salazar swore he was prepared to deal with somebody such as myself. I proved him wrong.

My lungs filled with the scent of gunpowder and despair from the battlefield as I took a big huff of air.

“What weaklings, the humans are. It still boggles me how so many throughout history attempted to try and unify all of them under one flag.”

In a strange burst of humility, I called out to see if he was alive, addressing him by rank, Commander Salazar.

100 Word Story – Wrong Moment

There’s a time and place for everything—this was not one of those moments.

Roger stayed down on his knee, his emerald green eyes shining up at me, like the ring in his hand. He kept his composure and had his cool dude attitude intact, even if his face was red with embarrassment.

I looked around at the patrons trying to enjoy their dinner, all of their eyes focusing on me instead of the plates in front of them. One person had a bright smile on their face, awaiting my response to Roger.

I had to break his heart. “No.”

Ribs

It was a beautiful thing, seeing that exposed rib cage. I reached over to the tool tray and picked up a corked vial; the liquid inside was clear. I took off the cork and brought the vial just under my nose, taking in a big whiff of the noxious fumes. I couldn’t contain my girlish giggling as I looked at the rib cage.

“Oh gosh, I can’t wait to see how pretty and white this bleach will make you. Just thinking gets me excited!”

The lively man on the table struggled, wanting to escape. He tried to bite his way through the mouth gag in his mouth, but it only wedged deeper into his mouth. His arms and legs tried to flair around and force their way free, but every action only brought his limbs back down onto the examination table. He rolled his head over to look at me. I could see the hatred burning in his eyes, his eyebrows burrowed down, his mind probably thinking of vicious and violent things being done to me as revenge. Curiosity got the better of me.

I leaned over and took out the hand towel mouth gag, allowing him to speak. After taking in a large gasp of air he went on a long train of slurs and hateful words, calling me all kinds of bitches and murderers. He even attempted to spit in my face, but it only rolled out of the side of his mouth and became drool along his cheek.

I used the hand towel to clean up the small trail, “Please, dear, try not to soil yourself. You must try and keep tidy.”

He roared at the top of his lungs, “Go fuck yourself, you crazy bitch.”

Butterflies started fluttering around in my center, making my entire body tingle with excitement. I could feel my cheeks light up with heat as he threw more angry words at me. Out of pure embarrassment I took the spit-covered hand towel and forced it back in this mouth, this time pressing a bit of it down his throat to clog his airways.

I grinned at him, running my free hand along one of his exposed ribs, “Don’t tease me with a good time. You don’t know how rough I can get.”

Break-in in the Outbreak

She kept her eyes on me as she reloaded the shotgun one shell at a time.

“Now, hun,” she began, “why in all hell should I begin to believe anything that’s been coming out of your mouth, especially after finding you trying to fit through my bedroom window?” She came to a halt with the reloading, twirling the next shell between her fingers.

“I take it you don’t pay attention to what’s going on outside, do you?”

“Oh trust and believe me, I’m fully aware of what’s going on in them streets—” she stops mid-sentence and, in one quick and fluid motion, reloads the next shell in her hand and cocks the shotgun, “—and I know how to deal with those things roamin’ in the streets.”

I felt a cold chill travel down my spine when I saw her cock that thing with just one hand. And on top of that she did it all without even having to look down at the gun on her lap. The entire time, her piercing gaze was right on me, trying to look into my mind to see if I wanted to harm her.

“So, Goldilocks, you gonna explain yourself? Why did you break into my home?”

Considering my current situation, I figured talking would be a good way to try and pass the time. “I suppose I should. Honestly, the main reason I thought about coming to this house was because I thought it was deserted.”

“What made you think that?”

“Well, your windows weren’t bordered up for starters, which explains how I managed to even get into this situation. On top of that, all the lights were off, so I figured electricity had ran out here. I honestly thought the house was abandoned.”

The woman kept her eyes on me for a bit, almost trying to size me up from my spot. After a solid minute of eye contact she placed the shotgun on the cushion next to her and got up from her seat. She walked over and crouched down in front of me, grabbing at the thick rope that bound my feet, “If I got rid of this rope, you won’t try to run away, will you?”

I lifted up my wrists to show the other set of rope she used on me, “I promise. Besides, I can’t really do much with my hands tied like this.”

She looked at me one more time; I tried not to blink just in case she read my eye moments as a sign. After a moment of silence she unbound my feet and collected the rope in the back pocket of her jeans. I thanked her, finally able to feel the blood rush back into my feet. She nodded as she went back to her seat.

She reached behind her and pulled out a small pistol, taking out the magazine and counting the bullets already in it. Her voice was a bit more rasp, but had a sensitive tone as she spoke, “A youngin’ like you shouldn’t be alone in these times. You’ve got no family lookin’ after ya?”

I shook my head” Use to.”

“What happened to them?

“The outbreak got to them before I could.”

Cobblestone Captive

“How do you plea?”

Hervea spat on the ground in front of the judge’s feet, “You’ll go to hell before I plea guilty on a charge I never committed. If I die, you and your people will suffer.”

The judge gazed down at the captive Hervea, her neck exposed on a cold block of cobblestone and hands tied behind her back as she was forced to her knees. Every time Hervea tried to upright herself the executioner would kick her in the side, forcing her to cry out in agony. The judge took a few steps around and crouched down to look at the bruising around Hervea’s rib cage.

She caressed the black and blue spotted area with the tips of her fingers, making sure to put barely any pressure on it, “You’ve taken quite a beating from my personal executioner today, haven’t you? Almost makes me feel the pity for you.”

The judge backed away and snapped her fingers, the telltale sign of issuing an order. The executioner reached down and grabbed Hervea by the hair, clutching at the small ponytail on the side of her head. She screamed more, feeling some of her hair rip straight out of her head as her body weight tried to force her down. Once she reached eye level with the executioner, a flurry of punches came over her, all of them striking right in the bruised area; the last few punches managed to break the skin, causing blood to start rushing from her midsection.

“Almost.”

Hervea’s pain came out in her screams, “You fucking piece of orc shit!”

“That’s enough, Talius,” the judge spoke coldly. “You can put her down now.”

The executioner nodded, slamming Hervea back onto the cobblestone block head first.

The judge watched Hervea as she lied motionless and her face buried in the block. The judge crouched down and gently tapped Hervea on her head to get her attention, “I’ll give you one last chance. How do you plea?”

Muffled from a stone in her mouth, Hervea chuckled happily through her pain. Confusion over took the judge’s mind as she saw her prisoner’s body twitching with laughter.

“What the hell is so funny?”

Bare-handed, the judge grabbed a clump of Hervea’s hair and forced her to look up. Their eyes meet one another. Hervea continued laughing, closing her eyes for a moment. When they opened again, the whites of her left eye were covered in a dark red web-like pattern and her iris was growing a bright yellow. Her laughter came to a halt, spitting out the rock, and took in a deep breath as she spoke her next words.

“Finis appropinquavit.”

Luka’s 2018 Year-End Round-Up

Luka’s 2018 Year-End Round-Up

I did my best! Or, at least, I tried to do my best.

Geez, I didn’t realize just how quickly 2018 has went. So much has happened this year, both good and bad, but that’s just how life is. Okay, that all I’m gonna do for the boring philosophy for this post. Time to move onto the better stuff!

Just the other day I was looking at all of the stuff I wrote across this entire year, and I’m actually surprised by how many things I managed to share with the world. So many various dark and murder scenes, stupid lines that made me fall on my ass and laugh, and even a few things that made me tense up and cringe about what was happening. There were so many stories where I had a page or two of decent writing done that I never finished, but left on the back burner just in case I ever got around to finishing it (I didn’t.) And then there were numerous pages where only one line was written, and I had no memory whatsoever about why I wrote that. All those hours of me staring at a blank page or a blank screen just waiting for an idea to come eventually turned into the dozens of stories I’ve written this year. And I’m actually pretty proud of myself. I honestly thought I would give up on everything by this year was over, but I fought that fear and kept pushing on. And I’ll keep on pushing straight through 2019!

The more I wrote this year, the more I began to understand what I truly enjoy writing the most, what’s the hardest thing for me to try and write, and what I need to improve on to make my writing better. As it may be a bit obvious to see, I’ve been writing a lot of horror stuff of various kinds, mostly ending with some kind of character death or gruesome scene. I’ve also been writing a lot of stories where there’s a villain who completely decimates the hero or some innocent soul caught in the crossfire. And honestly, I really, really like stories like those. So heads up for next year: get ready to see some horrific and bloody villains and anti-heroes!

Alright, enough about the good parts of me. Time to focus on you, the readers who’ve been reading my stuff! You have no idea how much I’m grateful and how much I appreciate each and every single person who visits my site and read my works. When I first started out writing in high school I never showed anybody my stories—I wrote for fun. Now, just a couple of years later, I got people who want to see my stuff. Now I’m writing for fun for myself and for others. I never imagined that I would start a website just for that. And it’s all because of all you wonderful people who remember my website or keep up with what I post on social media, and I love all of you because of it. When I first started the website, I assumed that the only people who would see my site would be people in the United State, the same country where I live. But as time went on people from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, India, Scotland, Russia, and dozens of other countries that I could list (but won’t because that list would be too damn long) started reading my works, and I was surprised as hell. There are people from literally all over the world to keep up with my stuff, and it just brings a giant smile to my face. I can’t thank you guys enough for it.

I’m sorry for the lack of posting in December. My jobs was in the holiday rush and I was burnt out every day, so I was just trying to rest whenever I can. But don’t worry. It’s almost over and I’ll be back to normal in just one more week. So prepare for more stories again!

I’m terrible at closing articles, I’m just gonna leave you guy with this.

Thank you every person who reads my stories, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year, and I’ll see you all in 2019!

100 Word Story – Confession

No regrets, absolutely no regrets. You got this, Carmen.

I kept trying to pump myself up over and over, to try and collect what small amount of courage I already had, but the pounding of my heart kept breaking my focus. It was uneasy and unsteady, arrhythmia seeming to kick in. I couldn’t let my aching heart hold me back from doing this. If I kept this secret any longer, it could possibly destroy everything I’ve been working on to try and better myself.

Deep breath in and out, I knocked on Mom’s door, “Hey, Ma? You have a second?”

Legends of the Dark: Child at Play (Part Three)

This was going to be my end, right here in this bush behind the school yard. I could imagine the news headlines the day after they find my body: Young Teacher Unidentifiable Due to Missing Face, Eaten Alive.

This bush wasn’t going to let me go anytime soon. These small twigs were prodding me all over, making it more and more painful to move around. My arms were getting weak from supporting myself up. Melissa kept her eyes on me, and I didn’t want to look back.

If I did, all I would see is the bloody face of a monster.

My face would have probably shredded apart with ease if those fangs dug into me. I forced that graphic thought out of my mind—I had to focus on trying to get out of the bush, and away from her.

Mouth salivating and getting onto her feet Melissa let out a loud, blood-curdling growl and leaped up into the tree.

The Miracle of Machine

The advance in both technology and medical science has lead to the breakthrough and discoveries of the modern era. Diseases either have cures or have been completely wiped off of the face of the Earth. Advancement in technology has allowed more societies to develop at a rapid pace, allowing more of the global population to stay connected. Human lives have become much more easier, less stressful, and living in comfort is almost a birthright in the current norms.

Advancements have even allowed humans to take the next step in the evolutionary process: the merge of man and machine. Although that new evolutionary step is still in the preliminary stages there isn’t a shortage of those who want to bear witness to the birth of what humans will eventually become.

Although they still have the slender and smooth look like before they have a newfound weight to them, almost like somebody tied a small cube of lightweight metal around my ankles. When I push off the weight drags me down without effort, my feet creating small craters in the marble flooring.

“As expected.”

Alex & Sam’s Daily Life – A Pervert at Work, A Pervert at Home

Living around somebody who always has one thing on their mind can be a bit bothersome. Sometimes, the thing that’s on their mind can conflict with their actions and daily routines. However, if there’s some kind of compromise between you and the person, perhaps it won’t turn out so bad.

In Alexis’s case, living with a giant pervert does have its benefits, mostly knowing that she won’t have to worry about feeling unloved. Even if it means having to deal with an occasional booty grab. But when that kind of thing reaches her job, it’s a bit more embarrassing to try and deal with.

Better yet, more surprising based on who it’s coming from.

“Oi, Heather. Watch your back around Alexis. I heard she’s the dominate type.”

Heather’s fingers drop onto the keyboard and she look directly at me, shock in her eyes and her cheeks red with embarrassment, “W-What?!”

“Have your way with me!”

It’s Time Again: NaNoWriMo Has Begun!

It’s finally November. It’s just after the spooky month of October, but just before the festive December holidays. It’s that time of the year where people come together, come together as a family for a large feast at the end of the month, and draw turkeys using our hands as a guide. It’s a great month to start bringing family and loved ones together. But there’s another thing that happens in November. A certain little thing that involves spending time using your imagination and collecting your thoughts. That’s right: It’s time for NaNoWriMo!

NaNoWriMo, short for National Novel Writing Month, is that time of the year dedicated for people who want to challenge their creative potential. Throughout the entire month of November, authors, writers, and wordsmiths alike are encouraged to try and write an entire novel over the course of one month. To some, this is a feat that’s too challenging for them, but still attempt it for pure enjoyment. Then there are those who constantly keep their pens and pencils moving, or fingers moving in case they type their words,

Although the word “Novel” is in NaNoWriMo, the end-result doesn’t necessarily have to be a novel. It could be an anthology of short stories, a collection of original poetry and song lyrics, an autobiographical story about a plant named Rodrick told through multiple monologues, it can honestly be whatever a person can think of.

Although the month is all suppose to be about encouraging others around the world to find their inner writer, there are those out there who feel like NaNoWriMo only sets unrealistic standards and mindsets for those who haven’t been in the writing industry long enough.

If you’re curious and want more information about what exactly NaNoWriMo is and how to involve yourself for the month, head on over to the official NaNoWriMo website for more information.

Are you a new member of NaNoWriMo or are you a returning veteran? Do you find the NaNoWriMo website helpful or does it set unrealistic expectations? Feel free to express your thoughts and ideas in the comments and share!

Spooktober – Drive-by Slasher

Afternoon, everybody! Spooktober is ALMOST over, but I managed to squeeze in a little quick thing I wanted to put out for you guys to read. To be a bit honest, I had an idea that I wanted to work with, but it kinda derailed halfway through. Nonetheless, it’s still worth the read. May come back to it later in the future.

Without further delay, here’s “Drive-by Slasher.”

When you’re a young, single man who has his own bachelor pad, most of the time you’ll just want to enjoy your life before settling down for a bit. Having a nice job to help keep you financially able to do these things is always a plus. Stylish cars, fancy clothes, and an appetite for fun comes with the lifestyle.

However, suddenly realizing that you’re missing limbs after going grocery shopping doesn’t fit into that lifestyle.

“My… My foot… What happened to my foot? It’s gone!”
